01Lê Mai Natural Standard

The first layer, applied to every Lê Mai product.

Proportions

Natural ingredients

At least 70 to 80%, excluding water and salt.

Modified ingredients of natural origin

At most 5 to 10%.

A product may be entirely plant based, or contain ingredients of animal origin such as honey, beeswax, goat milk, collagen.

02Lê Mai Organic Standard

The second layer, above the Natural Standard, for organic products.

Organic ingredients

At least 70%, excluding water and salt, from organic farming or wild harvesting.

Modified ingredients of natural origin

Below 5%.

Origin

Entirely plant based.

Three organic levels

70%, 95% or 100%. Water and salt are the only exceptions.

03Lê Mai Senteurs Standard

A standard for fragrance, covering products that may irritate the skin, essential oils above all.

It is built on IFRA, and on the recommendations of the scientific committee SCCS (formerly SCCP) under European Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. Where IFRA does not yet have enough data to reach a conclusion, Lê Mai Vietnam adds its own provisions, grounded in science.

The standard holds detailed usage rate data for common essential oils. Some ingredients are not used. Others may only be used up to a maximum concentration.

The Lê Mai library holds 400 essential oils. Each one has four layers of information:

• Safety warnings.
• Main organic constituents and their values.
• Source and the plant part used.
• Name and scientific information.
