Ylang ylang essential oil, Cananga odorata, from flowers grown in Madagascar and the Comoros. A rich, deep floral. One of the oldest perfume materials.

Steam distilled from fresh, hand picked flowers. Pure essential oil, undiluted, not synthetic.

Ylang ylang sits in the middle and base notes. Unhurried. It opens in layers: sweet fresh flower, then slowly warmer, like light wood. One drop is enough to change the air of a room.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is an essential oil single note premium, from the brand Lê Mai Vietnam, steam distilled from the fresh flowers of Cananga odorata grown in Madagascar and Comoros. One of the oldest and most renowned perfume ingredients in the world: an intense, sensual floral scent with the depth of a Middle to Base note.

How to use

Diffusing (Aromatherapy): add 2–3 drops to a diffuser or candle dish; use for no more than 30–45 minutes at a time as the scent is strong. Can be blended with Bergamot or Sandalwood for balance.
Diluted on skin (Topical): max dilution 0.8% with a carrier oil (jojoba, almond, coconut), about 5 drops EO in 30ml carrier oil. For massage, skin care, applying to the wrists or behind the ears.
Relaxing bath (Bath): mix 3–5 drops with a spoonful of whole milk or Epsom salt, then add to a warm bath.
Hair care: add 2–3 drops to conditioner or hair oil (30ml), leave on for 10–15 minutes before rinsing.

Safety notes

Maximum 0.8% dilute before applying to skin (about 5 drops in 30ml carrier oil). Do not apply undiluted essential oil to the skin. Patch test before first use. Avoid eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds.

Do not use during pregnancy. Not recommended for children under 12 due to the risk of skin irritation. People taking medication for low blood pressure should consult a doctor before use.

Ylang Ylang is very strong: overuse (even when diffused) may cause headaches or nausea. Do not diffuse continuously for more than 45 minutes. If you feel unwell, stop use immediately and ventilate the room.

Storage instructions

Shelf life: 36 months from the date of manufacture; 12 months after opening.

Store in a dry, dark place below 25°C. Avoid direct sunlight and high heat. Close the cap tightly after use and keep the bottle upright.
