Pơ mu essential oil from Fokienia hodginsii, a tree of the high mountains of northwest Vietnam. A clear, warm, airy wood scent.

Steam distilled from the trunk wood of mature trees, keeping its natural chemistry.

Pơ mu grows only in certain high mountain areas of Vietnam and Indochina. Pure, undiluted and not synthetic. Lê Mai states its origin and method clearly.

Peimou Essential Oil is a pure essential oil from the brand Lê Mai Vietnam, steam-distilled from the wood of Fokienia hodginsii — an endemic wood growing in the old-growth forests of Northwest Vietnam. Scent woody, clear, warm and airy; close to Japanese Hinoki but deeper, with the strong character of Vietnam's tropical forests.

How to use

Diffusing (Aromatherapy): add 3–6 drops to a diffuser or oil burner; use 30–60 minutes at a time, 2–3 times a day. Combine with Sandalwood or Frankincense for added depth.
Diluted on skin (Topical): max dilution 3% with a carrier oil (jojoba, almond, coconut), e.g. 18 drops EO in 30ml carrier oil. For massage, skincare, spot application on the temples and wrists.
Relaxing bath (Bath): mix 5–8 drops with a spoonful of whole milk or Epsom salt, then add to a warm bath.
Meditation and yoga support: diffuse 2–3 drops of Peimou with 2 drops of Frankincense before you begin. The sacred woody scent creates a natural ritual space.

Safety notes

Maximum 3% dilute before applying to skin (about 18 drops in 30ml carrier oil). Do not apply undiluted essential oil to the skin. Patch test before first use. Avoid eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women: consult a doctor before use. Safe for children from 2 years at a maximum dilution of 0.5%.

No major known contraindications for Peimou wood essential oil. Cedar/cypress wood oils are among the safest groups; no photosensitivity warnings.

Storage instructions

Shelf life: 36 months from the date of manufacture; 12 months after opening.

Store in a dry, dark place below 25°C. Avoid direct sunlight and high heat. Close the cap tightly after use and keep the bottle upright.
