Camphora Essential Oil No.042 樟脳

Camphora has a clear Woody, Camphoraceous scent, cool and crisp, recalling the ancient forests of the East. The opening is clean and cool, slowly warming into a deep wood layer and finishing with a soft touch of resin. Use on its own or blend with wood, resin and herbal oils.

Steam-distilled from the wood of Dryobalanops aromatica, its key components include:

1. α-Pinene: 54.3%
2. β-Caryophyllene: 18.1%
3. Borneol: 8.3%
4. α-Caryophyllene (Humulene): 4.3%
5. α-Terpineol: 3.0%
6. β-Pinene: 2.5%
7. (+)-Limonene: 2.5%

α-Pinene makes up the largest share, with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Borneol gives the characteristic camphor scent and has a mild nerve-relaxing effect.
